Obituary for William Ross Hover

William “Bill” Ross Hover, 85, of Hattiesburg passed away on May 2, 2018 at Forrest General Hospital. Visitation will be Saturday, May 12, 2018 from 1 P.M. until service at 3 P.M. at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg.
Bill’s father gave him his first dump truck at the age of seventeen and he never stop hailing from the coast to the capital, it was what Bill loved. Owner and Operator of Hover Gravel Company for over fifty years, building a foundation in the Hub City. He was most content spending time at his fishing camp in Gautier catching all the “big fish” and enjoying the peacefulness.
You always knew when Bill arrived at work or play by the “toot of his horn” announcing his arrival and planning his day. You can rest assured that Joyce heard that “toot of his horn” and was waiting to be reunited.
He served in the United States Army and supported the Mississippi Home Builders Association, Lamar County Board of Supervisors, Homes of Hope, and many other charities.
He is survived by his children, Garland (Sarah) Hover, Sharon (Danny) Palmer, Patti (Allen) Hood, Archie Hover, Lacresha (Richard) Fisher, Kathy Fagan, Lonnie Parden and , Teresha (Joe) Bryant; his grandchildren; and a great grandchild.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to the VFW at 210 Ronnie Street, Hattiesburg, MS 39401, or the charity of your choice in Bill’s name.
