Obituary for Thomas Oscar "Tom" "Tommy" Lott

Thomas O. Lott, known as Tom and as Tommy to his friends, was a friendly person who was easy to get along with. He liked to tell stories and make people laugh. Tom, a Devoted Christian, read his Bible on a regular basis. Late nights when he could not sleep, he took comfort in reading his Bible through the night. He knew his Bible and could quote the verses and their meaning.
Thomas was a hard worker, a good provider, devoted husband and father. He favored his grandson, whom he loved dearly.
Thomas worked in heavy construction all his working years. He was one of two men who hung from the apex of the Biloxi Coliseum to weld the center structure. He suffered numerous accidents and broken bones. Each time, he would get right back up and return to work. He excelled in every Hasmat Safety and Structural Class he was enrolled in. He was employed as a certified welder for Boh Bros. Construction Company for many years and worked all over New Orleans and South Louisiana.
Coming from a farm environment, he was a farmer at heart and forever wanted to get back to his roots. He remembered milking cows in the early mornings and going to school barefoot. He was a fine man and a man of his word.
Thomas was preceded in death by his father and mother, Curtis Charles Lott and Melva Lee Sellers and his brothers, Charles Curtis Lott and John Hood Lott, his mother-in-law, Helen Marie Borges Farmer and infant granddaughter, Isabella Marie Norton.
Left to cherish his precious memory is his devoted wife, Elizabeth H. Lott, “Lisa” his daughter Lezleigh Sybil Lott-Norton, his grandson, John Thomas Norton, three sister: Eva Lou Bond, Frieda Whittington, (Dennis), Iris Erp (Michael) and numerous nieces, nephew, cousins and many friends. He is survived by the last living Matriarch of the Lott family, Essie Hickman. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Big Level Baptist Church with burial to follow in Pine Bluff Cemetery, Perkinston, MS. Visitation will be Friday, September 21, 2018 held from 5-9 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home in Wiggins, MS.
