Obituary for Mary Lee Otts Crane

Mary Lee Otts Crane of Houston, Texas passed away on Monday, March 26, 2018, at age 80, in Midland, Texas.
Mary Lee was born on November 25, 1937 to James Allen and Lydia Lee Otts in Shreveport, Louisiana. Mary Lee lived most of her childhood in Laurel, Mississippi and graduated from Laurel High School in 1955.
Mary Lee was a resident in Hattiesburg for over 30 years. It was here that her three daughters were born and raised. Mary Lee was an active member of Main Street Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir and serving in the nursery. She also enjoyed volunteering with several charitable organizations in the community.
Mary Lee moved to Houston, Texas in 1989. She worked as an Office Manager in the Oil & Gas industry until her retirement in 2013. She had been an active member of Tallowood Baptist Church. She also enjoyed gardening and traveling to spend time with family and friends during her retirement years.
By far the greatest joy of Mary Lee’s life were her five grandsons. She never hesitated to tell you a story about what they were up to and she loved bragging to her friends about them. Her number one goal was to spoil each one. Mary Lee “Gram” will be painfully missed by all of her boys; Joshua Lawrence Gilbert of Houston, Texas, Chase Eldon Gilbert of Midland, Texas, Zachary Allen Gilbert of Midland, Texas, Samuel David Gilbert of College Station, Texas and Timothy Clayton Bobo of Houston, Texas.
Mary Lee is survived by her three daughters, Jamie Lea Bobo and husband Tim of Houston, Texas, Victoria Renee Gilbert and husband Larry of Midland, Texas and Susan Michelle Crane of Houston, Texas. She is also survived by her brother John Richard Otts and wife Sharon of Hattiesburg, Mississippi and their children, Megan Sheehy and husband Sean of Huntsville, Alabama and Jimmy Otts and wife Shea of Brandon, Florida.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 2, 2018 at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg, Mississippi at 1:00pm. A graveside service will immediately follow at Roseland Cemetery at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
