Obituary for Marilyn "Cookie" Swilley

Marilyn “Cookie” Swilley, 63, of Purvis, died September 13, 2017, at her home. Services will be at 10 a.m., Friday, September 15, 2017, at Moore Funeral Chapel in Hattiesburg, followed by burial in Richburg Cemetery.
Mrs. Swilley was a homemaker and a member of Sunny Hill Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed gardening.
Cookie was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Yuba Piercy; one brother, Ronnie Frank Piercy; and a brother-in-law, Vernon Moody.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Bill Swilley, Sr. of Purvis; two sons, Bill Swilley, Jr. (Crystal) of Purvis and Michael Swilley of Hattiesburg; two daughters, Shelia Swilley of Newport, TN and Mary Sanner (Keith) of Pass Christian; four brothers, Steve Piercy of Purvis, Randy Piercy (Billie) of Petal, Craig Piercy (Sarah) of Purvis and Jeremy Piercy of Hattiesburg; two sisters, Dixie Moody of Columbia and Tammy Guyton (Paul) of Purvis; six grandchildren, Alexis Nix, Amberleigh Swilley, Ace Swilley, William T. Roberts, Cela Neldon and Jayda Brumbaugh.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg.
