Obituary for Julia Mae (Brewer) Smith

Mrs. Julia Mae Brewer Smith, 92, went home to be with the Lord on March 31, 2018, while at home with her loved ones. She was a longtime resident of Wiggins and an active member of Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Lumberton, MS.
Words cannot fully describe the kind of person Julia was or what she meant to those around her. We are all truly blessed to have had her in our lives. Family was very important to her and she worked hard to try and take care of them all. She will be remembered for her strength, perseverance, kindness and giving spirit. But most of all, she will be remembered for her loving heart. She always had a smile, a ready ear and words of wisdom for those in need. She would lend a helping hand to anyone who asked, and of course, no one left her home hungry. She became an honorary mother and grandmother to many throughout her life and left a lasting impression on every heart she touched.
Her husband Seth William Smith, her parents, Thomas and Carrie Brewer and her sister, Ruby Adams, were at the front of a large reception line filled with family and loved ones who were waiting to greet her at the pearly gates.
Her three children, James (Molly) Smith, Charles (Gwen) Smith and Judy (Gene) Brown, her ten grandchildren, Mike (Laura) Ladnier, Jeff (Robin) Smith, Chad (Michelle) Ladnier, Seth (Cara) Smith, Jason (Shellye) Smith, D.D. (Martin) Long, Charlyn (Melissa) Smith, Jeremy (Tonya) Smith, Julie Smith Vincent and Joshua (Cindy) Smith, 26 great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren did not say their goodbyes, but rather, they simply told her that they would see her soon.
Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 9:00pm Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Red Hill Baptist Church in Lumberton.
Services will be at 11:00am Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Red Hill Baptist Church in Lumberton will interment to follow at the church cemetery.
