Obituary for Ella Ruth Blanchard

Ella Ruth Blanchard, 97, passed away at her home in Hattiesburg surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, December 19, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 29, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church of Hattiesburg.
Mrs. Blanchard was born and raised in Columbus, Mississippi. She worked at MSCW before her marriage to William (Bill) in 1951.
She attended Nicholls State University when they were transferred to Houma, Louisiana earning a degree in Elementary Education. She taught school in Louisiana before retiring and moving to Hattiesburg. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, painting, sewing, and gardening. She was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star and a member of First Presbyterian Church. Her church family was truly a blessing to her and her family. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Blanchard, Jr.; her parents, John and Floy McCann and six brothers.
She is survived by a daughter, Becky (Rudy) Boudreaux of Lafayette, LA; four grandchildren, Ryan Boudreaux of Houston, TX, Rebecca Boudreaux (Joao Metelo) of San Diego, CA, Lyndi (Sean) Kennedy of Pearland, TX, Allyson (Carlos) Betancourt of Seattle, WA.
