Herschel Loper

U.S. Veteran

   Herschel Loper, 75, of Perkinston went home to be with his Lord and Savior May 13, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his family and friends.  He was a member of Sunflower Baptist Church and a U.S. Army Veteran. 
   He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Mary Loper; three brothers, Wenson, Terrell and Jeff Loper; and a sister, Maxine Parker.
   He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Alice Ann Loper of Perkinston; four children, Belinda and Bill Gay, Dorinda Owens, Elease and Charlie Blackwell and Wenson Loper, all of Perkinston; ten grandchildren, Autumn and Michael Holliman, Devin Owens, Jaron Gay, Raven Blackwell, Raylen Blackwell, Hunter Blackwell, Alivia Loper, Renee and Randall Fox, Kimberly Blackwell and Charlie Blackwell Jr.; three great-grandchildren, Jayden Gay Holliman, Randle Fox Jr. and Morgan Blackwell; three sisters, Mary Hover Parker of Zion, IL, Charline Smith of Picayune and Myrna and Arlan Rouse of Perkinston; two brothers, Elder Billy Joe and Carol Loper and Elder Lamar and Doris Loper both of Perkinston; and numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousin and church family.
  A special thanks to Dr. Davidson, Southern Care Hospice and 3rd floor Memorial Hospital of Gulfport Staff. 
   Services will be Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 10:30 a.m., at Sunflower Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
 Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m., Tuesday May 15, 2012, at Sunflower Baptist Church.
