Moore Funeral Service, a
family owned and operated business, began serving the Hattiesburg, MS
area in 1959 when Ethan Moore purchased the Quigley Funeral Home in
Hattiesburg. It was operated as Quigley-Moore Funeral Home until 1965
when the name became Moore Funeral Service.
In 1967, Moore purchased the Dees Funeral Home in Wiggins, and, in
1972, the Hattiesburg and Wiggins facilities were incorporated as Moore
Funeral Homes, Inc. Steve Moore joined the firm in 1974, and Greg Moore
came aboard in 1978, thus creating a family partnership.
The Purvis chapel was built in 1980. With the opening of
the Petal chapel in 1994, Moore Funeral Services now proudly
serves the South-Central Mississippi area with four locations. Each
facility has been equipped to provide state of the art services for the
entire vicinity which it serves.
Other divisions of the family-held corporation include Home Security
Life Insurance Company and Moore Funeral Insurance Company. |
